Basingstoke & District Philatelic Society (BDPS)

Privacy and GDPR Compliance

BDPS is a membership organisation which operates to provide its members with information about meetings and advice on topics of philatelic interest.  In order to operate effectively, it is in the legitimate interest of the Society to hold the following information about members:

  • Contact details – name & address, email and telephone numbers in order to communicate information relevant to their membership and various notices of meetings and items of philatelic interest.
  • For some members we also hold an indication of their collecting interests.

This information is not shared with third parties.

The information is stored and processed for the duration of membership.  When membership lapses, we will retain membership details until we receive notice of termination, or for a period of one year – which ever is shorter.

Basically, the Society is not doing anything with members' data beyond that which they might reasonably expect.

Should a member have any concern about the way we handle information, please contact our Secretary and inform us of it.  We will do our best to satisfy those concerns, within the parameters of the operation of the Society.
