Introduction

1887 saw the introduction of the attractive and popular Jubilee series. These pages cover just the 2d value:

• The Shades, there are many more shades than SG list.
• Colour Trials and Specimens
• Marginal rule settings
• There were numerous plate varieties of which many are shown here.
• The last two pages show the two pieces that persuaded Stanley Gibbons to list the damaged tablet variety on row 3 stamp 12 in their Queen Victoria Specialised Catalogue. This variety had previously been listed for the equivalent King Edward VII 2d which had used the same plate.
